Throughout the United States there are several garden seed companies that have dedicated their work to offering a wide variety of heirloom, non-GMO, and organic seeds.
Here I go into a list of online seed companies that are dedicated to heirloom gardening and offer great seeds.
Let’s Dive In…
Heirloom Seed Companies Online
Although it is common buy seeds from big box stores, I encourage you to explore these seed companies offering heirloom, non-GMO, and organic seeds.
All of them have an online shop where you can order seeds year-round.
In alphabetical order:
Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company
Renee’s Garden; The Garden to Table Seed Company
I do not want to claim that this is an exhaustive list; however, these were companies that offered both an online store and clearly showed their dedication to heirloom gardening.
What is the Safe Seed Pledge?
It’s important to a home gardener that there are companies that stand in the belief that quality seeds should be available to the everyday gardener.
The safe seed pledge is a voluntary pledge seed companies can sign to assure their customers that the seeds they are selling are clean, safe, untreated and meet non-GMO standards according to the Council of Responsible Genetics group created in 1999 (source High Mowing Seeds)
Safe Seed Pledge is great assurance when looking for quality seeds for your garden.
However, don’t let that steer you away from a seed company listed above.
Many companies still offer untreated, safe, clean, non-GMO seeds without the pledge, including some of the ones listed above.

That’s It!
Many of these companies have great back stories and are family owned.
These companies also offer seed catalogs to help their customers see everything that are available.
And it’s a wonderful practice to your garden and your personal health to use non-GMO seeds and keep heirloom plants in circulation.
Enjoy!
