Bone Broth Hot Chocolate Recipe | That doesn’t taste like soup

No, it doesn’t taste like chicken soup, but instead a smooth, rich hot chocolate that blows any store-bought powder out the water.

Milk, heavy cream, maple syrup, good cocoa powder, unsalted broth, and some vanilla is all you need to make this recipe.

Here I go into tools, ingredients, and instructions you need to make this easy and quick Bone Broth Hot Chocolate.

Bone Broth Hot Chocolate Recipe

Tools you need

  • Small saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Mugs or holiday glasses

Ingredients

Makes 5-6 standard mugs

  • 1 cup, unsalted bone broth (poultry preferred, beef tends to be too strong)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 3/4-1 cup maple syrup (or sweetener of choice, adjust to your liking)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop collagen powder (optional)

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, mix all ingredients.
  • On medium, heat up until mixed together, stirring frequently (about 5 minutes or so). Use whisk to incorporate cocoa powder well.
  • Serve warm. Can store leftovers in the fridge for a few days. It mixes well with cold coffee to make an iced coffee mix at home (for adults).

That’s It!

So easy to make this and gives you a chance to add just a little something more substantial to this regular holiday treat.

My picky eaters love it but if your kids are having trouble with it, try using only a half cup of broth at first. Or just skip. It’s still good without the broth.

Since it only takes a few ingredients, I will always suggest looking into the best ingredients you can get.

Here is the cocoa powder I use: Organic Cocoa Powder.

Enjoy!
