Everyone needs a banana bread recipe that isn’t hard to make.
There is just one secret ingredient to insure you don’t have a dry banana bread here (that’s yogurt).
Here I go into tools you need, ingredients, and instructions on how to make the Double Batch of Simple Banana Bread
Banana Bread Recipe | Easy Mix, Basic Ingredients
Tools you need
- Stand mixer with paddle (or electric hand mixer)
- One 4×12 bread pan (or Two 5×9 bread pans)
Ingredients
- 3 large, ripe Bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup butter (one stick), room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt (Greek style works well, sour cream can be substituted)
- 3 cups flour, sifted
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips, or finely crushed nuts
- Non-stick spray
Instructions
This recipe is a double batch (2 loaves); it fits into one long bread pan or two shorter bread pans.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- In your mixer add mashed bananas, butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla, yogurt. Mix until well combined and slightly fluffy.
- Sift together flour, salt, and baking powder. You can do this right over the mixer bowl or in a separate bowl.
- Add to wet ingredients, stir to combine well.
- Add chocolate chips (or nuts). Stir until combined.
- Spray your bread pan loaf well with nonstick spray (or wipe down with oil well)
- Pour batter into greased pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until toothpick comes clean.
- Can serve warm. Refrigerate or freeze any leftovers.

That’s it!
Banana bread has got to be the starting point of “not letting food go to waste” before it was even a popular idea.
You can even make 4 loaves (double this recipe) and store them in the freezer, pulling them out when you need a sweet bread available.

Enjoy!
